PCRB for Positioning in GSM Networks

چکیده
The posterior Cramér-Rao lower bound (PCRB) for estimating the position and velocity of a Mobile Station (MS) by integrating two different kinds of measurement from GSM networks, Timing Advance (TA) and Received Signal Strength (RSS), is derived. The bound shows that theoretically the data fusion approach yields better accuracy than using a single kind of measurement. The performance of an extended Kalman filter (EKF) is compared with the PCRB.

A TESLA-based mutual authentication protocol for GSM networks
The widespread use of wireless cellular networks has made security an ever increasing concern. GSM is the most popular wireless cellular standard, but security is an issue. The most critical weakness in the GSM protocol is the use of one-way entity authentication, i.e., only the mobile station is authenticated by the network. This creates many security problems including vulnerability against m...
متن کامل3D Path Planning Algorithm for Mobile Anchor-Assisted Positioning in Wireless Sensor Networks
Positioning service is one of Wireless Sensor Networks’ (WSNs) fundamental services. The accurate position of the sensor nodes plays a vital role in many applications of WSNs. In this paper, a 3D positioning algorithm is being proposed, using mobile anchor node to assist sensor nodes in order to estimate their positions in a 3D geospatial environment. However, mobile anchor node’s 3D path optim...
متن کاملAn Implementation of Time of Arrivals Location Positioning Technique for GSM Networks
Positioning algorithms are of great importance in recent years, as the means of providing location based services (LBS) including wireless emergency services. Telecommunication engineers are frequently puzzled by the accuracy of the implemented technique in contrast with the cost. In this paper, we summarize the most known location techniques. Then we introduce a novel Time of Arrivals (TOA) lo...
